Flat Slips And Corner Slips
Flat slips cover the face of a wall; corner slips are single L-shaped pieces that wrap an external return so no cut edge is visible. Any wall with an external corner — a chimney breast, a reveal, an island, an elevation edge — needs them, and they are counted separately from the area.
Working Out Quantities
Face area gives the flat-slip figure; every external return is measured in linear metres for corner slips; and a wastage allowance covers cuts and breakage. Ordering the whole quantity in one go keeps the wall within a single batch.
Matching Existing Brickwork
For extensions and repairs, bring a photograph of the elevation or a sample brick if you have one. Weathered and antique blends usually match an older house better than a crisp new brick, and joint colour then closes the remaining gap.
