Property Types
The region's signature housing type — paired upper and lower flats in solid-wall terraces, with original chimney breasts and rooms that cannot afford to lose depth to a solid brick skin.
Large bay-fronted terraces with strong original detail. Reinstated brick chimney breasts and hallway walls suit them, provided the blend is chosen for the period rather than the trend.
Converted industrial buildings and modern apartments where exposed brick is part of the architectural language — and where a badly matched slip wall is immediately obvious.
Larger semis and detached houses with extensions, open-plan kitchens and garden rooms needing brick elevations or dining-end feature walls.

Why Us
Newcastle is surrounded by genuine exposed brickwork, so the blend and joint colour have to answer to it. Weathered and stock blends usually sit better than anything crisp and new.
One trade, done properly, with the setting-out decided before fixing rather than improvised.
Every installation carries our 25-year workmanship guarantee.
Send photographs and rough measurements and get a free written quote — no obligation either way.
Job counts for individual areas and guaranteed response times are Not Provided — we would rather leave a number out than invent one. What we will confirm: 30 years in the trade, trading as Bespoke Brickwork since 2015, our own showroom, a 25-year workmanship guarantee and a five-star Google review record.
Local Conditions
Rooms in flats and terraces cannot give up 100mm to a brick skin. A 20mm slip wall is the only realistic way to get genuine brick into these rooms.
Tyneside's older stock is solid-wall, so internal substrates are checked for moisture and soundness before any cladding.
In converted industrial buildings the new brickwork often sits within sight of genuine original brick. Blend and joint colour have to be chosen against it, physically, not from a screen.
Wind-driven rain and freeze–thaw affect external work across Tyneside. Substrate condition and specification are settled before ordering.
Our Process
Tell us the room or elevation, send photographs and rough measurements, and we will tell you what is realistic before anyone travels.
Compare blends in daylight at Thompson Yard, or take samples away so you can see them against your own light, paint and flooring.
The wall is measured and the substrate assessed for soundness and moisture. Setting out, bond and corner detail are agreed before anything is ordered.
Surfaces protected, slips fixed to the agreed setting out, corners formed with purpose-made corner slips so no cut edges show.
Joints pointed and finished to the agreed colour, the area cleaned down, and the work handed over with our 25-year workmanship guarantee.

Brick slips in MiddlesbroughIn Summary
Tyneside flats, Jesmond and Heaton terraces, Ouseburn and Quayside conversions and Gosforth family housing make Newcastle one of the most varied areas we cover. Depth is the constant constraint in the older stock, and matching genuine exposed brick is the constant challenge in the converted stock — both of which real slips, properly pointed, handle better than any imitation panel. Send photographs of the room and the existing brickwork for a free quote.
